We all have lost with the death of Gary. He was a special person that could brighten the day with his grin and I don't think that he ever met a stranger. My brothers and me have known the Wenke boys for a long time and his passing was a loss to the family.

Gary Wenke Family,
We have two ways of remembering those who leave us, as they begin their final journey. We cry over their absence, or smile, remembering them through the countless memories that are left behind... I am sure Gary would want us to smile forever. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times as you celebrate a life well lived. Stay strong. Mike Jackson, friend /co-worker

I served with Gary for many years in the Kansas Army National Guard. He was my right hand man when it came to drawing and turning in ammunition. Always had a positive can do attitude and ready to go the second mile. He just stopped in my office a few weeks ago just to say Hi. Maybe he was really saying goodbye.

Gary would stop by the office after work to see how I was doing. A man who cared about others, especially his soldiers, before himself. Our loss is heaven's gain!

Terrible loss... To his family- please know that Gary was the best guy & soldier ever! That great smile of his and his genuine care for soldiers & mission will never be matched. He was a great mentor to the junior soldiers and had such a great attitude, I normally don't sign these things or on FB, but had to let you know what a great impact he made on me and every person he dealt with, God bless you and him.

Met Gary on our deployment to Iraq, never met a man that could keep such a positive attitude in such a negative situation! I am proud to know Gary and call him my friend. Use to run into him on the turnpike at truck stops and it always made my day to get the chance to talk to him and catch up. God bless you brother!!! You are loved and will be missed!!!
