Wassall, Irma, celebrated Wichita poet, guitarist, dancer and performer, died Jan. 26, 2012. Residing in Wichita since 1927, Irma was an integral part of the arts community. She was married to English painter Fred Wassall in 1930 until his death in 1970. Irma was a friend, mentor and an inspiration for many artists, writers and musicians. She was a loyal and gracious friend to those fortunate enough to know her. Her talent, beauty and wisdom were gifts she freely shared and ones that greatly benefitted the City of Wichita and those who knew her. Survived by nephew, John Ferris of Tulsa, Okla. A celebration of Irma's life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 in The Garden Room at Piccadilly. Memorial established with Kansas Authors Club in c/o 400 S.
