Fillion, Bryant P., 65, WSU Professor of Education, died November 3, 2003. Services will be private. Bryant held degrees from the University of Michigan, Long Island University, Florida State University, and completed a graduate fellowship at the University of Illinois. For over 40 years he was a gifted, dedicated teacher of young people and their teachers. Before becoming a Professor of Education at the University of Illinois, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in Toronto, Canada, Fordham University, and Wichita State University, he taught English in junior high schools in Birmingham, MI and South Huntington, NY. He is survived by his daughters, Helen and Kate, son-in-law William Falk, and grandson Charles, Toronto, Canada; sisters Margaret Handyside, of Michigan, Doris, of California, brother, Albert, of Wichita, KS. Also remembered by friends, colleagues, former students and former wife, Elinor, of Toronto, Canada. The family would appreciate donations in Bryant's memory to Hospice Care of Kansas, 3241 E. Victor Place, Wichita, KS, or the charity of your choice. Also, special thanks to Dr. Donna Sweet and staff for long-term care. Condolences may be sent to the family via Service arrangements are under the direction of Watson Funeral Home and Garden Chapel 3201 S. Webb Road.

Bryant was a good friend when we were in high school together. We shared many interests and many good times. He followed his passion through college and his career. Bryant was one of the good ones. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Sincere condolences to his family and all who are left behind.

i always looked forward to seeing bryant. he was a wonderful friend, patient and human. i sure miss him!he was always an inspiration to me. his sense of humor and wonderful smile made my day. i enjoyed meeting his brother. my prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Bryant was a wonderful and unique man. He always brought light into his surroundings, even in his worst days. We will miss him.
