I was saddened to see Deb's obit this morning. My sympathies go out to all of her family! Debbie and I were good friends many, many years ago in grade school at St. Francis. We probably laughed more together as kids than we learned. I have fond memories of Debbie, and I recall riding the bus together in 1974 to go downtown to see our parents, who both worked at Commerce Bank. Music brings back memories, and whenever I hear the song "Rock The Boat" by the Hues Corporation (early 1970's) it reminds me of Deb; I don't remember exactly why, but I seem to remember we both liked that song. I probably danced to it with her at the 7th-8th grade dances. To this day, I still have a little bracelet that she gave me all those years ago. I don't think I ever saw Debbie again after we graduated from St. Francis Xavier grade school, but I never forgot her. RIP Debbie, from your long ago friend, Mike Payne
