Charles Andrew Roult, Sr., of Olathe, Kan., passed away January 15, 2016, at the age of 88. Chuck was born in Cleveland to Charles Andrew and Miriam Powers Roult. He attended St. Ignatius High School in Shaker Heights and the University of Notre Dame, class of 1949. As a teenager, Chuck served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In the Korean conflict, he was a 2nd Lieutenant with the Army Corps of Engineers. He married Martha Miller in Kansas City in 1956. Chuck co-founded Great Western Automatic Sprinkler Company, Protection Sprinkler Company, and the Fabrication and Supply Company. He was a lifetime member of both the National Fire Protection Association and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. For the latter, he served as president of the local chapter. He earned his Registered Fire Protection Engineer certification. For recreation, Chuck enjoyed playing tennis, traveling with Martha, walking the beach in Florida, and rooting on the Fighting Irish. One would know Chuck was in the room by his hearty laugh. His devotion to his God, country, and family were the cornerstones of his life. Chuck was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, and served as Grand Knight. He was active in the Serra Club. Chuck served on the board of the Honorary Directors of Rockhurst University and was Chairman of the board of Leawood Country Club. Fire Protection industry has lost very good engineer; Chuck knew how to apply his engineering knowledge to the practical world. Known Chuck (and Martha) since 1970 and enjoyed working with him. May God bless his soul.

Chuck was my friend, a trusted supplier of fire protection systems in my buildings, and my tenant during the the Great Western days. He was a tribute to the times of ethics and long standing relationships in the construction industry. Chuck was a good man. Bill Zimmer

Dear Roult Family,
I will miss Chuck at Santa Marta. I enjoyed our talks and especially, both being avid Notre Dame fans. He was a good man and I hope your wonderful memories comfort you during this sad time.

Sincerely,
Margo

To Charlie and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know your father was a grand man to all that knew him. I had to honor to meet him a couple of times. I know he had great pride in his family and the Fighting Irish. I will keep you all in my prayers.
At times like this I like to recall the Irish Blessing "May God hold him in the palm of his hand until you meet again..."
