Charles Gulley Obituary

Charles "Gene" Gulley, 82, Lawson, MO passed away Tuesday July 15, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 18, 2008 at the United Christian Presbyterian Church, Lawson, MO. Burial will be in the Lawson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, MO. There will also be a Masonic service during the visitation Thursday evening. Gene was born on May 30, 1926 in Lawson, MO, the son of Oscar and Ella (Parker) Gulley. He attended Lawson High School. He was united in marriage to his wife of over 57 years, Marjorie Marie (Teegarden) Gulley on May 22, 1948 in Dearborn, MO. Gene was in the Mobile Oil business in the Lawson area for over 40 years. He had also worked for Pepard Seed Company. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Radar Man 3rd Class aboard the USS Severson. Gene was a member of Bee Hive Lodge in Lawson, MO and also a member of the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Lawson. Survivors include many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie on January 11, 2006; two brothers, Roy and Olen "Doc" Gulley and two sisters, Louise Partin and Lovita Gaines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church or the Lawson Fire and Rescue. Arrangements by Polley Funeral Home, Lawson, MO, 816-580-7704. Gene,
I remember so many times hanging over Momma and Daddy's fence, or walking up to meet you an visit whenever I came home. Playing baseball with all the kids in the empty lot and our yards.

I loved you and Margie like family - because you are. And I'm glad you're all together again. Heaven may never be the same!

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
