Surviving members of her family, include a son Gary of Overland Park, KS, a grandson, Steven and a great-grandson, Jacob, and a brother, Harry of Warsaw, MO. In the early days of her life, Jeannette worked in the Lingerie Department of Grants Department store in downtown Kansas City. She was also trained as a Coloratura Soprano and earned a scholarship to the Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Violet Society of Kansas City, and spent time cultivating and growing Violets in her home. She also grew specialty Hybrid Iris Bulbs and maintained a large colorful Iris garden space in her back yard. She had a love for cooking and enjoyed, sharing and trying new recipes. Jeannette was an avid bird watcher, and to assist in her observations of birds, she was involved in feeding and identifying birds in her back yard from a large window overlooking her backyard patio, on which she installed multi-bird feeding stations. She was ever appreciative of the kind care and attention she received from her longtime friend Paul Wisner. Paul along with her brother Jerry Weiss, accepted the task of taking care of her business affairs and last wishes.
