Jeannette Schuster Jeannette (Weiss) Schuster 98, of Kansas City, MO, made her transition on Thursday, January 31st at Care Haven Memory Care of Overland Park KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Don and daughter, Annette, brothers, Jerry, Morris and a sister, Helen. Surviving members of her family, include a son Gary of Overland Park, KS, a grandson, Steven and a great-grandson, Jacob, and a brother, Harry of Warsaw, MO. In the early days of her life, Jeannette worked in the Lingerie Department of Grants Department store in downtown Kansas City. She was also trained as a Coloratura Soprano and earned a scholarship to the Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Violet Society of Kansas City, and spent time cultivating and growing Violets in her home. She also grew specialty Hybrid Iris Bulbs and maintained a large colorful Iris garden space in her back yard. She had a love for cooking and enjoyed, sharing and trying new recipes. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed sharing her efforts with family and friends. Jeannette was an avid bird watcher, and to assist in her observations of birds, she was involved in feeding and identifying birds in her back yard from a large window overlooking her backyard patio, on which she installed multi-bird feeding stations. She was ever appreciative of the kind care and attention she received from her longtime friend Paul Wisner. Paul along with her brother Jerry Weiss, accepted the task of taking care of her business affairs and last wishes. Unfortunately, her brother Jerry died suddenly in September, leaving Paul to be with her during her last hours, who was there to provide support and comfort. Jeannette who was a member of the Methodist faith, will be missed by all that knew her, but forever remembered for her genuine love for God, family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Care Haven Memory Care, for the compassionate and professional services in their nurturing family environment. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 8th at 3:00pm., with visitation starting at 2:00pm. at Mt. Moriah Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes, KCMO. Interment immediately following, at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Those wishing to memorialize Jeannette may do so by making donations to, Wayside Waifs or the Red Bridge Animal Clinic.
