MICHAEL A. MORGAN Michael A. Morgan, 71, passed away peacefully, Nov. 4, 2017, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Tony & Helen Cropis, he is survived by his sister, Mary Margaret, & brother-in- law, PJ Petralie; his wife, Katherine Harter Morgan; his son, James Dylan Morgan, daughter-in-law Sara Beth Morgan; granddaughters, Olivia & Mirabelle; nieces Mallory, Cicily, Toni Jo, Priscilla, Summer; nephews Joel, Patrick, Jason;grandnieces Lily, Kylee & Rylee, & Samantha. Michael wore the Ship's Captain's hat, Lake Jacomo Expeditions, 2009 - 2017. For work & pleasure, Michael took to the water. His company, Kansas City Digital Video, produces media with educational content, documenting the Big Muddy Speakers Series, where people share information about our water, our Missouri river. AKA Grandmaster ceramic blaster, Michael owned Osage Pottery in the early 70s. He helped start the Renaissance Festival, keeping his booth through the 1990's. He designed, threw, fired, & glazed drums, which he loved to play during rainstorms. His photography, whether portrait, landscape, still or wild life, is engaging, informative, technically & visually satisfying. His friends from the Kansas City Linux Users Group made his company, KCDV, possible. A nature lover, Michael attended Camp Lake of the Woods where he learned to catch snakes. As a teen he learned to ride horses. Mikimo loved the many children in his life: Caedmon Allen, Michael Aaron, & Ian Bier; Aurora & Aaron Griffith; Sabina Shifrin, Isabella, Moyenna, India, Simeon, & Havilah Purdle. At the annual backyard party, he shared archery, ceramics, music, earth sciences, geology, & astronomy, & marshmallows. Celebrate Michael's life with us fom 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 10, at Cellar 222, 222 W 20th St., KCMO 64108.
