ROBERT E. KENNEDY Obituary
Robert E. Kennedy, 93, passed away March 26, 2014. A Mass at 7 p.m. will be Monday, March 31, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W. 143rd St., Olathe, Kan. Rosary 6 p.m. with the visitation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Robert was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, church dedicated, God loving, Prince of a man. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII as a Radar Technician First Class on board the USS Pyro (AE-24) deployed mainly in the South Pacific. A professional salesman in the printing and lithographic industry for over 45 years. Robert had a true partner in life, Mary for 62 years. Words cannot express the influence, wisdom, passion, love and work ethic our father brought to his family, friends and to his everyday humble life. Robert will remain in our hearts and minds from this day forward. As Tom Brokaw wrote, "The Greatest Generation," Robert was truly a Man of this Era, faithful and honest. His legend and his legacy will live on! Preceding him in death, Mary his wife, children, Teresa Barrett, Michael and Steve Kennedy. He leaves behind five children, Susan K. Mandelbaum, Colleen (John) Shern, Patrick Kennedy, John (Andrea) Kennedy and Jerry Kennedy, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and brother, Vincent Kennedy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice House.
