DAVID M. YARGES

1940 - 2014

David M. Yarges, Smithville, Mo., formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Jefferson City, Iowa, to Paul and Evelyn (Lansing) Yarges. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1959. David served in the Naval Reserve and as a Polk County Deputy Sheriff. He retired as a Quality Control Officer from John Deere in Ankeny, Iowa. David loved life and was known by so many to always have a great smile on his face. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid golfer. His biggest disappointment in life was not seeing the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. David passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dixie Lee; sisters, Una (Ray) Price and Barbara (Larry) Kier; brothers, Ed (Millie), Richard (Katie), and Tom (Kathy); his children, Shelli Yarges, Parris (Michael) Yarges-Pickle, Paul David (Lori), and Beth (Richard) Branch; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father, Paul; mother, Evelyn; and sister, Donna. In lieu of flowers, please direct all donations to Alzheimer's Assoc.
