Lesa Marie Budmayr, 55, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, March 29th at her home in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
She was born September 25, 1964 in Rapid City to Kenneth and Jacqueline Budmayr. Throughout her childhood she lived with her family on their ranch near St. Onge and went to school in Belle Fourche.
Lesa loved competing in Track and Field, and held the Belle Fourche High School record for discus for 36 years. She lived her entire life in Belle Fourche, and worked for several businesses including the Belle Flower Shop, Pizza Hut, Motel 6, and AmericInn. She kept active in helping with her class reunions, and never missed an opportunity to send a hand-written card or letter to her friends and family.
She had a huge heart, a fierce loyalty to her flock, and always had a wide smile on her face. She loved to chat with her many friends and neighbors, had a large Facebook audience, enjoyed following the band Dakota Country, and loved keeping up with the latest comings and goings. She enjoyed antiques and garage sales, and especially loved collecting refrigerator magnets given to her from around the US and Budweiser beer steins.
Lesa was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Lance Cooper.
She is survived by her brothers, Bruce Lynn Budmayr and Brian Cooper, and by John and Kay Cooper, who she adopted as her second parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Belle Fourche Country Club. At 12:30 pm there will be a Memorial Tribute by Lesa's brothers, Lynn Budmayr and Brian Cooper.
