Thomas Paulson, 73, of Vermillion, SD passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his residence.
Tom was born October 13, 1947 to John and Emogene Paulson of rural Meckling, South Dakota.
Tom grew up in rural Meckling where he attended school for 12 years, graduating in 1965. During his high school years, he helped with farming resulting in a lot of "thinking time". As a result, he decided to go to college where his major was mathematics and while in college he developed an interest in computers and programming. He attended USD, Bethel College and DePaul University.
After graduation he worked on programming for many different firms located in Irvine, California, Houston, TX, Washington DC, Cary, NC, Dallas, TX and lastly, he worked online for several firms while living in Vermillion.
He is survived by his sister, Joanne Darrington (Dan) of Mitchell, SD, his brother, Mark Paulson (Melanie) of Colleyville, TX, his nieces, Kristina Darrington (Frank) of Blaine, MN, Heather Darrington of Dallas, TX, McKayla (Zach) Martin of Richardson, TX, Richard Darrington (Sherry) of Mitchell, SD, Jared Paulson of Ft. Worth TX. and Caleb Paulson of Dallas TX, great-nephews, Levi and Jonah of Ft. Worth, TX.
The last years of his life were spent in Vermillion, as mentioned above, caring for his father and mother prior to their deaths. We will all miss him.
