The world has lost a great man, but heaven has gained a saint. I loved being around Dr. Piecoro. He always had the most pleasant attitude and he could brighten anyone's day just by being in his presence.

We are so thankful that John contacted us the first year he came to Arizona for Spring Training and every year after. We became good friends through those visits and are happy that we got to know him better. He told us wonderful family stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Our condolences to the family.

Susie and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Johns passing..Joe & I were in their wedding and John was best man in ours in 1957. They were best friends growing up and two very handsome guys. Joe was so proud of Johns accomplishments. Both were proud of their Italian heritage. Joe would see Jeff on the sports channel and would say come look at Jeff he looks so much like John. So many other good memories. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Susie.

We are so sorry to hear of John's passing and send our sincerest sympathies to Sue, Jeff, Mark, Lance and Sheila plus extended family and close friends. He was a giant of the man, always so friendly, kind, a big hello, lovely to talk too. A great neighbor, an amazing family. Our children grew up together, loved that. He will be so missed, so sorry. Love and prayers to all. John, Audrey Peterman and family.

John was a major reason for me coming to UK out of high school to pursue pharmacy (he was the pre-pharmacy advisor when I met him--little did I know who I was actually talking to!). He continued to be a role model for me as I grew in my life and career. One of my fondest memories of John was driving up to Reds Opening Day & talking about baseball. He certainly was a great guy who touched so many people in so many different roles. We will miss you & pray for Sue & your family.

I was very sorry to hear of the recent passing of John. To all of the pharmacy residents he was both a mentor and a friend. He was an early model of a specialized clinical pharmacy practice position in pediatrics when few models existed. I shared with John a love of baseball and sports in general. I have fond memories of residency picnics at the Piecoro household. I pass my condolences on to Sue and his family. May he rest in peace!

John lead a life that made a difference through his service to so many people, ranging from those he served in Public Health (a real "Kentucky Colonel"), to the many athletes and their fans whose experiences were enhanced by his efforts in intercollegiate sports, to the many residents and students whom he prepared to make a difference in the care of children. I was fortunate to be John's second pediatric pharmacy resident in a program that has resulted in making a major national impact in children's care. A true pharmacy pioneer! Condolences to Sue and the rest of the Piecoro family.

John was a talented catcher on our Ohio State team but he was more
than that. He was a great person of high character. I only wish that I would have stayed closer to him. I had great respect for him. May God bless his family in this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to learn about John's passing. John was a great man and certainly the absolute BEST PEDIATRIC preceptor that any pharmacy student or pharmacy resident could ever have. I feel lucky to have done a PharmD residency at Kentucky (1973-1976) while John was at the pinnacle of his profession. John and I shared one thing I had forgotten about until I read his obituary; the fact that both of us had served our country as a Commissioned Officer in the US Public Health Service. The other thing we had in common was our campus rivalry during football season, since he graduated from Ohio State and I graduated from Michigan. John touched my life and that of many others. He will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and other close friends. God Bless.../Ray, R-37
