Erma Miller Obituary
, 78 of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Big Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her home. She was born in Rockcastle County, KY on May 29, 1940 the daughter of William Hearld and Mary Jackson Pigg. She was a homemaker and a lifelong, faithful Christian and prayer warrior. She loved being around God's people and was a member of the Livingston Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was "Mamaw" to everyone and had the most loving and compassionate heart. She loved spending time with her family. She welcomed anyone to her table where she prepared delicious home-cooked meals. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and singing the praises of the Lord. Mamaw loved everyone and everyone loved Mamaw. Now she can sing, "Where there'll be no grief or pain, perfect peace and joy shall reign. Home at last I shall proclaim 'Lord, Here I Am'!" She is survived by her husband of nine years, Pastor James "Jim" Miller; her sons, Kenneth Holt and wife Jammie of McKee, Timothy Holt, also of McKee, and Shannon Holt and wife Chris of Berea; and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda Holt and Emily Holt, both of McKee, and Christopher Holt of Richmond. Also surviving are her step-children, Jennifer Mason, Teresa Minton and husband Donnie, Brenda Miller and husband Rick, Sandy Hale, and Terry Miller, all of Mt. Vernon, and Karen Taylor and husband Buddy of Cynthiana; as well as a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A large extended family of aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews also survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glozone Holt, to whom she was married for 39 years; siblings, Zulla May Pigg, J. Lee Arley Pigg, Travie Pigg, Starlion Pigg, Sylvania Robinson, Bernice Chasteen, Jessie Pigg, and Donnie Pigg; and a granddaughter, Samantha Holt. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 AM at the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel by Bros. George Poynter and George Mullins.
