James "Jim" Monroe Barnes, 71, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elmer Monroe and Ethel Mae Barnes. He is survived by his wife Sandy Barnes of 50 years, by his children, James "Jimmy" Barnes, Jr., Lexington, Teresa (Bobby) Grigsby, Georgetown, Jessica (Demetrius) McIntyre, Georgetown; grandchildren, Lauren (Austin) Jarvis, Cody Grigsby, Chase Grigsby, Ta Sanders, Trey Barnes, Cailyn Barnes, Makiah Jackson, Jayden Barnes, Uriah McIntyre, Pyper Barnes, & Londyn McIntyre; great grandchildren, Hagen Grigsby & Clay Jarvis; sisters, Jean (Sam) Davis, Faye Day; brothers, Carl Barnes, Don (Bobbi) Barnes, and Doug Barnes. He was preceded in death by brother, Jerry Barnes, and sister, Bonnie Sue Barnes. The following will serve as pallbearers, Jimmy Barnes, Cody Grigsby, Chase Grigsby, Trey Barnes, Jayden Barnes, T.G. Murray, Terry Garrison, and Travis Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Grigsby, Demetrius McIntyre, and Austin Jarvis Service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11am, with visitation on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm all at My Church, 701 Slone Drive, Georgetown, Kentucky with Pastor Landon Holder officiating.
