James F. Thompson Obituary
James F. Thompson, 86, passed away Saturday, August 11,2018 at his residence. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He retired from AT&T after working for Ohio Bell Telephone Company. Jim enjoyed the years he volunteered as the leader at Boy Scout Troop 24 in Franklin, Ohio and enjoyed his retirement by moving to Meadowfield Farm in Lexington, KY with his wife Wanda. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 68 years, Wanda Thompson, his mother Kathryn Garrison, Father Donald Thompson, Step-Father Berdette Garrison, Brothers Donald Thompson and Gerald Reed. He is survived by his 3 children, Sheila Ulmer, (Carl) of St. Marys, GA, Troy Thompson (Jan) of Lexington, KY and Alan Thompson (Holly) of Xenia, OH; grandchildren Brian Ulmer (Kari), Travis Thompson (Cenchrea), Matthew Ulmer, Andrea LeMaster (Corey), and Stephan Thompson; sister Janet Nunley; 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends at Jim's favorite place, Meadowfield Farm, 6100 Winchester Road Lexington, KY between the hours of 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday August 14th, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or Bluegrass Care Navigators at 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504. Scobee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
