WRIGHT Jeffery Mack "Tex", 51, of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, Jun 5, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY after a sudden illness. Jeff was born in Garland TX, June 15, 1966 to Jessie Mack Wright and Vada Joy Horton. Jeff enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) on Dec 4, 1987. During his years in the Corps he was stationed at Camp Pendleton and 29 Palms in California. He served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was attached to 3/9 and task force "Papa Bear". Jeff's tank was the second tank to cross the Kuwaiti barrier and the first into the Kuwaiti Airfield. Once Jeff completed six years of dedicated military service, he served the City of Lexington from multiple districts as a firefighter and paramedic. He also proudly served as a member of Rescue 1 for two years. During his service as a Lexington firefighter and paramedic he received multiple awards including Company Officer of the Year 2013. Jeff retired from the Lexington FD in Nov, 2015. He is survived by his children Jacob Aaron Wright, Cody Mack Wright, Alyssa Marie Wright, and Austin Ryan Piotrowski of Frankfort, KY. He is also survived by his partner in life, Jennifer Lynn Miller and her children Morgan Danielle Miller and Aidyn Michael West of Frankfort, KY. Jeff leaves behind both parents, Jessie Mack Wright of Bonham, TX, Vada Joy Mills and husband, Johnnie of Dodd City, TX. He has brothers Jeremy Mark Wright, Joel Vaden Wright and wife Stacey of CO, Sandie Michelle Hanks with husband Danny and Walter Thomas Smith of TX. He left numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeff was preceded in death by his sister Brenna Joy Wright. He loved his family, brothers and sisters in both the Lexington FD and the USMC. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. Until we meet again, "Semper FI." Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with services to follow at 12:30 pm on Jun 12, 2018 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home- Harrodsburg Road. Jeff's burial begins at 2:00 pm at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
