HANCOCK Jo Ann Collins, 86, widow of Ben Hite Hancock, passed away Wed, July 11, 2018 at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah, KY. Born July 1, 1932 in Spring Grove, KY, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Joseph and Ruth Beavin Collins. Jo Ann was an educator in the Henderson County Vocational Schools and a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Survivors include four sons, Dale Allen (Catherine) Hancock, Paducah, KY, Steven Anthony Hancock, Sandusky, OH, David Wayne Hancock, Woodbridge, VA, and Patrick Joseph (Sarah Carter) Hancock, Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Adam Patrick, Joshua, Jacob, Robert Anthony, and Rachel Hunter Hancock; three great grandchildren; and four surviving siblings of 13. Jo Ann believed that God gave everyone certain gifts and talents and it is up to each of us to decide what they are and to make the most of them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Mon., July 16 at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2501 Clays Mill Rd., Lexington, KY 40503 with the Rev. Charles Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:30 am Mon. until the service time at the church. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Rosary Chapel Catholic Church, 711 Ohio St., P.O. Box 1481, Paducah, KY 42002-1481.
