Sean Peterman Obituary

CARLISLE -Sean Gerard Peterman, 49, of Carlisle, KY, passed away on July 23, 2015 in a farming accident. Sean was born in Baltimore, Maryland May 16, 1966. He graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1984 and went on to receive a BA in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 1989. Sean Peterman will be remembered by many as a compassionate, kind and hilarious man. His eyes always smiled and he drew people to him. Sean never met a stranger and treated everyone in all stations of life exactly the same. He was one of a kind with a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humor. Sean was a loving son, brother, father and husband. Sean was a cattle and grain farmer. He didn't stay in the the corporate world even though he had a very successful career in Marketing and Advertising with Hillshire Farms for over ten years. He was happiest on the land and that is where he died. However, the role he took the most pride in was husband and father. He was a beautiful father and was worshiped by his daughters and deeply loved by his wife. His passions included his family, farming and the band AC DC. At Tates Creek High School, Sean was an outstanding athlete and the starting center for Coach Roy Walton for three years. He was an RA at the University of KY for three years and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Sean leaves behind his wife and high school sweetheart, Lorri Stratton Peterman, and his daughters, Isabella Marie (Ellie) and Anabel Rose, his parents, John and Audrey Peterman, and his siblings, Robyn Peterman Zahn, Timothy Peterman and Matthew Peterman. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ann and Albert Aramini, and his paternal grandparents, Sally and Charles Peterman. Heaven is a very fortunate place today and this world has lost a wonderful man. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home, 203 Eastern Ave, Carlisle KY 40311 from 5-8pm. The funeral will be held on July 29, 2015 at 11am at the Carlisle - Clark Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor Jimmy Caswell.

I was a 42 year old UK student. Sean was in my study group in a Psychology class in Funkhouser. I remember his respect for me and his sense of humor. I was so sad when he died. The world lost a leader.

It's been nearly five years- five years that I've learned and grown, step by step, to move on and find new paths to follow. Thanks, dad, for all you did for us. Miss you.

Sean and I were on the Interfraternity Council together at UK. We were in different fraternities, but became close friends. He had a bigger than life personality where naturally people gravitated to him. He was a year ahead of me and I looked up to him as if he were five years older.

My prayers go out to his parents, siblings, wife, two children and many friends as they mourn Sean leaving us way too early.

Dear Tim, Lori, and the entire Peterman family,

My heart was broken on Saturday when I received a text from my brother Lowell about Sean's passing. I lost my sister Leta to cancer two years ago and can feel the pain of the loss of a loved one way before their time. I knew Sean through my friendship with Tim and will always remember Sean for his warm and loving spirit and jovial ways! Please know that my prayers will be with each of you during this heart breaking time.

My deepest sympathy,

Words cannot describe how sad I am at hearing of the loss of Sean from this Earth. As a Christian, I rejoice that he is now with God in Heaven, and pray for peace to Tim, and all of his family. Sean was a kind, and gracious man, who many years ago said kind words to me when I needed to hear them. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Sean was group partner with myself and another student in a psychology class at UK. This was not the usual group as my friend and I were old enough to be his mother but he was wonderfully funny and a great worker. He was a wonderful young man and I am so sad for your loss of his future.

I was saddened to receive this news about Sean from my daughter, Renee LaCasse Blaney. I have fond memories of Sean & his zest when he would "hang out" at our home (he & Renee were classmates at Tates Creek). So polite to adults, so comfortable with people of all ages..that's our Sean. My thoughts are with you & yours. Joyce Griffin

I simply couldn't believe what I read, nor did I want too. Sean was such a special person in every way. As much as it hurts me I cannot imagine the pain his wife and daughters are going through. My prayers have been with them and the whole family since I knew. That smile is what Sean brought to everyone, as well as the most kind heart that any person could have. RIP my good friend.
Please contact me if his wife and daughters need ANYTHING and I will be there. The world has lost a truly wonderful man.

As others have noted here, Sean was quite a character in high school. I, too, fondly recall his outgoing, inclusive personality that was coupled with a comedic presence reminiscent of John Belushi. Sean made me laugh, and I offer my condolences to his family.

Hello from Milwaukee,Wis. I worked at Waterstreet Brewery with Seans girlfriend, when he came in, the place took on a new energy a special energy that you were glad you were there. Funniest man I knew. Him and his buddy would bring down the house, I mean abs hurting next day funny. They ruled the basketball courts around the Marquette campus. The greatest memory I have is Seans party for U.K/Duke 1991, the funniest time I had even after "the shot". The town of Milwaukee mourns with Carlise and the Peterman family. Thank you Mr. and Mrs Peterman for your son. I really believed in would own Hillshire, really surprised he was a farmer, glad he was doing what he loved.
