Lexington, Kentucky - Sargent John D Willis 91, passed away at his residence. He was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Willis, brother L.C. Willis and son Robert Edward Harris.
John is survived by one brother Leslie Willis, Lexington KY, daughter in-law Ernestine Harris Georgetown KY, brother in law Jimmy Harris, Georgetown KY. Six grandsons, Robert Ernest(Letitia) Harris, Stephon L Harris, Andre(Terri) Harris, Corey Harris, Tracy Garrett and Joseph Scott all of Georgetown KY. A special niece Nokomias Bledsoe, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 12:00 PM Wednesday June 9, 2021 at Unity Worship Center 1975 Haggard Lane , Lexington, KY. Visitation 10am to12pm at the church. Burial at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens , Nicholasville, KY. Under direction of Stephon L Harris, funeral director.

town, is now stationed in |
Fulda, Germany, with C | Troop 35 Cay.
The local soldier entered |
the service Aug. 11, 1950,
and has seen actionin Korea.
S/Sgt. Willis went to Korea
in 1951 and saw action at the
38th parallel, Pusan and
Camp Kaiser, at Sand O Bar
Bra and Camp Hogga. He re-
| turned to Korea in 1966 and
was there until last year.
S/Sgt. Willis holds the 2nd
Award C,1.B., 5th Award of
Conduct, 24th Division, 3 Oak
Leafs Unit Citations, Expert
badges with M-1 Rifle, sub-
machine gun, 90-mm gun,
tank drivers badge. He also
holds Japan Occupation Rib-
bons, Korea Occupation Rib-
bons, Korea Unit Citation
ribbon and others.
