Sharon L. Braem
Algoma - Sharon Louise Braem, 77, went to her heavenly home Friday, March 12, 2021.
Sharon, daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Knutson) Novak was born in Algoma on January 28, 1944. She went to school in Algoma and later attended Bellin Nursing School where she became a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Algoma Hospital, she had a lot of stories from her hospital days from working in surgery to delivering babies. She loved being a nurse. When the Hospital closed she continued on working at the Long Term Care Unit. She was the Interim Director of Nurses. After she retired she continued to work part time because she loved being a caregiver.
It was in Algoma where she met the love of her life, Carl W Braem. They were married on August 3, 1968. She was a loving stepmother to Carl's three boys, Guy, Boyd and Lee Braem. They were blessed with a daughter, Becki Braem.
Her daughter was her greatest blessing and her whole world.
Sharon loved being a mother, grandmother and a nurse. As a young girl with a lot of brothers and sisters, she was a natural caregiver to her family. She had a warm heart full of compassion and kindness for everyone in her life. She always had the right words to comfort her loved ones, patients and their families.
Sharon loved watching football, she was a Packer fan. As a young girl she loved playing sports and played volleyball on the weekends with her family, she even had a volleyball court in her back yard. She loved to walk. She loved to knit and cross stitch and enjoyed the quilting group at St. Paul's.
When she was blessed with her grandson Jesse Kroll, she enjoyed watching all his sport activities, especially his college football games. She went with her daughter to all the football games, even the Bahama Bowl game for Christmas. She enjoyed vacations with her family and just spending time with them. Her last vacation was spent at the Grand Hotel, it was something she always wanted to do.
She was very strong in her faith and lived her life serving the Lord. She was a role model to her family. She battled lung cancer for over 10 years. She fought hard and didn't complain and always trusted in God's plan for her life. She was such a blessing to anyone who knew her, and will be missed so much by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Becki Braem, stepson Lee Braem (Alison Brotman), her grandchildren Jesse (Michaela)Kroll, Laura Braem, Zach Braem and Alex Vandenplas; brothers Gary (Linda) Novak , Steve (Roxie) Novak, Jeff Novak, Randy (Mary) Novak, Jon (Beth) Novak; her sisters Marilyn (Ron) Tunks, Julie Lent, Susan (Steve) Urban and Lori (Randy) Denault.
