TRENTON - Paul R. Stallings, Sr., 96, of Trenton passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at his home. Paul was a WWII veteran who joined the army July 25, 1942. He spent the next three years fighting in Northern France, Rhineland, Normandy, Ardennes and Central Europe and received five bronze stars and a silver star for his courageous duty. After the war, he returned home and farmed until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Janie Stallings; brothers Bob, William Earl, Melvin and Walter; and sisters, Hazel, Eva Mae and Elizabeth. Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hazel M. Stallings; daughters, Fay Canady (Donald) and Kay Gonzalez (Jack); son, Paul Stallings, Jr.; grandchildren Kevin Canady (Amanda), Renato (Marrisa) and Cristina; great-grandchildren, Alex, Braylon, Bryson, Renato Jr., Makayla, Michael and Melani; brother Joe; sisters Christine (Bill) and Doris Ann and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Trenton City Cemetery with Pastor Tim Daniel and Pastor Jackie Elwart officiating.
