Beryl Civilla Obituary
Beryl Civilla

Bremerton, WA

Dec. 27, 1928 to Oct. 8, 2018

Beryl Civilla passed away peacefully at her home on October 8, 2018 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Donovan, Saskatchewan on December 27, 1928 to Edwin and Madeline Ankerfelt. Her family moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 1942.

She married Jim Civilla on December 31, 1948. They moved to Silverdale from Dickinson, North Dakota in 1969. She worked at Fairview Junior High for many years. Shortly after her husband passed away in 1986 she moved to McCormick Woods to be closer to her family.

She was very passionate about piano playing, sewing, knitting, her church, and baking. We learned that if you called her an hour before you came to visit, there would always be freshly baked cookies waiting!

She is survived by her sister Joy, daughter Vicki (Tim) Uhler, son Jim (Retha) Civilla, grandkids Kristin Jones, Tim Uhler, Bryan Uhler, Erin Civilla and Jeff Civilla and well as great grandchildren Jamisen, Brooklyn, Grace, Ethan, Reed, Alice, Bode, Broc, and Amelia…and of course Scoutie Dog.

Beryl was a very loving, caring, and giving person. Her family meant everything to her, and she will be truly missed by them and so many others.

The family would like to give special thanks to her niece Janis Goenner, Dr. Wu and her staff, the caretakers at Home Instead, and CHI/Franciscan Hospice for their compassionate care during her last days.
