Timothy J. Bodner

Poulsbo - Tim Bodner, passed away at his home in Poulsbo on 10 December 2020.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend to many and neighbor.

He was born December 28, 1946 in Anaheim, California, and raised in Garden Grove CA. He moved with his parents to Washington after graduating Orange High School. While attending Green River Community College, Tim would meet the love of his life, JoAnne, on a volleyball court. They were wed in June of 1968 and shared 42 years of marriage, before JoAnne's death in 2010.

Their adventures together included living in Heidelberg, Germany, where Tim was stationed with the U.S. Army. They managed to tour a lot of Europe on his leaves, and all three of their sons were born in Germany. In 1977 they returned to the U.S. and settled in Poulsbo, Washington, to raise their family.

Tim dedicated his life to his family and his church family at First Lutheran of Poulsbo. He was instrumental in the numerous social outreach programs. Missions in Romania and community meals which gave him fulfillment with his two passions cooking and serving his community. He extended this love to the community at large by preparing and serving a weekly community meal at Poulsbo First Lutheran Church for over 10 years.

Tim leaves behind his son, Chuck Bodner and his wife Manuela of Meridianville, Alabama, his son, Karl Bodner and daughter Ashley of Lacey, Washington and his son, Chris Bodner and his wife Lindsey, and their children, Asa and Grace of Poulsbo, Washington.

Tim will be buried beside his wife JoAnne, and his parents Charles and Elaine Bodner at their family plot at Washington Memorial Park.

A graveside service will be held on 21 December 2020 at 10:30 AM. The service will be live streamed via Zoom for those that are unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to a charity that honor's Tim's love and service to community. An online memorial can be seen at www.poulsbomortuary.com
