Janelle Ott Jones, age 87, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was born on January 19, 1931, in Wartburg, TN. She is survived by four children: Philip Jones (Jane) of Charlotte, Mary Jones Saathoff (Roger) of Lubbock, TX, Warren Jones (Linda) of Seymour, and Kevin Jones of Knoxville; 6 grandchildren, Andrew Jones (Kristin), of Fort Lauderdale, Margaret Jones, of Smyrna, GA, Rebecca Saathoff Davis (Andrew) of Austin, Zachary Saathoff (Emily) of Minneapolis, Claire Jones Herron (Christian) of Johnson City, and Wesley Jones of Seymour; and 2 great-grandchildren, John Andrew (Jack) Jones of Fort Lauderdale and Cole Quentin Davis of Austin. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Paul Jones; parents, Tiffin and Glena Ott; brother, Charles Ott (Joyce); and sister, Jane Ott Human (John).

Janelle made a lasting impact on everyone she touched with her kindness and boundless love. In her 50s she went back to school receiving a B.A. in the Classics from the Univ. of Tenn. and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She played the piano and her house was always full of music. Janelle was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

A memorial service will be held at Graystone Presbyterian Church, 139 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Graystone.
