Joseph Wayne Wolfenbarger

Bean Station - Joesph Wayne Wolfenbarger, of Bean Station, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2021, at the age of seventy-seven.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Jaynes; stepmother, Mary Grainger Wolfenbarger; father, J.W. Wolfenbarger; and stepson, Paul Anthony Maynard.

He is survived by his wife, Sherri Wolfenbarger; daughter, Casey Jo Jones; son, Lane Wolfenbarger; daughter-in-law, Kim Wolfenbarger; son-in-law, Dillon Jones; grandsons, Judge McCoy Jones and Cole Wolfenbarger; and brothers, Allen Kent Wolfenbarger, Mike Wolfenbarger, John Jaynes, and Tom Jaynes.

He was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church. He was an attorney and served for 32 years as the General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge for his beloved Grainger County, Tennessee. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, and above all spending time with his family and friends. He taught us all to laugh, to be kind, to be fair, and to love one another. He had many, many friends that he and his family love dearly. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank his many friends and extended family who have provided so much love, support, and comfort during this difficult time.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, traditional funeral services will not be held. He will lie in repose at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home on Monday, January 11th from 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm and on Tuesday, January 12th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Friends and family may stop by Smith-Reagan Funeral Home at their convenience on Monday, January 11th from 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm or Tuesday, January 12th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome to meet at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12th at 1:00 pm and proceed to Grainger Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 pm graveside service with Rev. Jack Ritter officiating.

Pallbearers: Lane Wolfenbarger, Dillon Jones, Cole Wolfenbarger, Allen Kent Wolfenbarger, Mike Wolfenbarger, and Darrell Lampkin.

Honorary Pallbearers: Duffy Foutch, Doug Smith, Jim Eaton, Tommy Baugh, Jimmy Harrell, Mark Hammer, Michael Hammer, Kermit Jackson, David Tate, Eddie Tate, Keith Stansberry, Hugh Henry, Monte Herzog, Ben Larrance, John Jaynes, Tom Jaynes, Jack Ritter, and Judge McCoy Jones.

I first met Mouse on one of the first days I went into law practice with Zane Daniel more than 47 years ago. He was a Goodman, always kind to me and to everyone. Am sorry about his passing and send my condolences to his family.
