Claxton - Louise Sapp Turner was born on July 18, 1926 in Sparta, TN. She left this life on October 6, 2019 at her home in Claxton, surrounded by her family. She moved to Oak Ridge to work with the Manhattan Project in 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Guy Turner, her son, Wendell Turner, who passed away two days before she did, parents: William and Randa Sapp, brothers : Richard Sapp, Leonard Sapp, Clarence Sapp and Manual Sapp. Sisters: Virgie Bumbalough, Verna Johnson, Willie Jones, Lois Lewallen, and Jewell Cooper. Special friends: Tripp and Joyce Swindle. She is survived by her children: Jenifer (Stephen) Delmonte, Carolyn (Kimuel) Hill and Melinda Turner, and her daughter-in-law Susan Turner. Grandchildren: Amber (Anthony) Robinson, Ryan (Nichole) Delmonte, Brian (Megan) Turner, Nathan (Jennifer) Hill, Rebecca (Kent) DeVinney, and Kaylie (Matthew) Davis. Great Grandchildren: Kasen Robinson, Brayden, Owen, and Grantlan Turner, Taylor and Wyatt DeVinney, Connor Davis, Eric Hill, Isaiah Comer, Grayson Davis, and an 11th great-grandchild expected in March 2020. Sisters: Jean Warner, Joan Wyatt, Joyce Brewer and Lena Tucker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Turner was one of the original, and a very faithful member of the Claxton Church of Christ. She worked as a caregiver in her home for many years until she retired in 2010 at the age of 84. She had a green thumb and grew many beautiful plants and flowers. She loved children and they loved her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10 at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home from 6 - 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Claxton Church of Christ on Friday, October 11 at 11 am. The officiating ministers will be Tim Forlines, Hugh Glaze and Richard Barnes. She will be laid to rest at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Amber Robinson, Ryan Delmonte, Brian Turner, Nathan Hill, Rebecca DeViney, Kaylie Davis, Kasen Robinson, Brayden Turner and Owen Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be her younger great-grandchildren.
