Othelia Jeffers Lawson left her earthly home on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 to join Jesus and her beloved husband, Leon. She was one of eight children and a member of Central Baptist Church. Othelia loved her church and Sunday School Class, but most of all, her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a loving and caring lady who lived life to the fullest. She loved to cook, sew, make quilts, cross stitch, and enjoyed all kinds of needlework. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years.

Othelia was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Leon Lawson; parents, Dewey and Rose Jeffers; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to celebrate her life and mourn her passing are her four loving daughters and spouses, Cathy Koch of Knoxville, TN, Sharon and Don Strong of Gas City, IN, Judy and Randy Bolton of Louisville, TN, and Betty and Mike Doyle of Halls, TN; brothers, Benton Jeffers of Albany, IN, Jim Jeffers of Somerset, KY; brother-in-law, Arlie Davis of Gaston, IN; special sister-in-law, Ada Marcum of Helenwood, TN; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and lots of friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staffs of Morning Pointe Assisted Living and UT Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, July 13 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 7pm, Rev. Archie Fendley officiating. Interment will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 14 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Bearden, 6300 Deane Hill Dr, Knoxville, TN 37919.
