Robert G. "Bob" McCool

Farragut, TN

Robert G. "Bob" McCool, age 76, of Farragut passed away peacefully on Monday morning December 31, 2018 at Raintree Assisted Living Center in Knoxville, TN.

Bob was a graduate of City High School in Iowa City, Iowa and a 4 sport letter-man. He was also active in choir and other social clubs. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the early sixties and following his service, spent the rest of his life in the better men's clothing business. Moving throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa to pursue his career with faithful family in tow, he finally ended up in Knoxville, TN. Before his medical retirement, he held a position with the John H. Daniel Company. Bob was an avid sports fan, and dearly loved music. His other hobbies included reading, painting, chair caning, and spending time with his family. Bob had a multitude of health issues over the past 25 years and was cared for by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce. Always the trooper, he fought until his last day and never gave up. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Raintree Assisted Living Center and Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful loving care the past few months of his life.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Castle McCool, and Ruby Forrester McCool; sister Cynthia A. King.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Sees McCool; daughter and son-in-law Angie and Carey Zachary of Louisville, Tn; son and daughter-in law, Greg and Heather McCool of Knoxville; grandchildren Evan Davis, Reise Zachary, Henry McCool and Lindy McCool as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 on Monday, January 7th at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel.

Family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th at the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery, 2200 East John Sevier Highway for services and interment with Chaplain Clay Mulford officiating.
