Randel Eugene "Randy" Davis, age 57, of Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016. Randy accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior as a 12 year old boy. Throughout his life, he applied his Christian principles in every facet of his life. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated Loudon High School, Class of 1977 where his love of basketball was fostered. He received degrees from Hiwassee College and Tennessee Wesleyan College and started his teaching career serving the bulk of his tenure at his alma mater, Loudon High School where he taught in the English department and coached basketball. In 1984, Randy and wife, Rita began Dairy Farming in Philadelphia. He was a passionate promoter of milk and the dairy industry and over the years served on numerous boards. Randy was currently presiding as President of the Southeast United Dairy Industry Assoc. and the American Dairy Assoc. of TN. He was also serving on the board of the TN Milk Producers Assoc. and the TN Dairy Promotion Committee. Randy dabbled in other businesses along the way. As an entrepreneur, if he had a good idea, he ran with it and Rita let him. He was an active member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, Madisonville where he enjoyed worshiping with his community.

He was preceded in death by father-in-law, Benny Ellis DeFord. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years and his high school sweetheart, Rita DeFord Davis; daughters and sons in-law, Samantha and Chad Craun, Alli and Tyler Kamper, all of Philadelphia; grandsons, Wilson Davis Craun, Deacon Ellis Craun and expectant grandson, John Randel Kamper; parents, Gene and Violet (Kittrell) Davis, Loudon; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Becky Davis, Philadelphia; mother-in-law and husband, Frances (DeFord) and Lawrence McClellan, Tellico Plains; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy and Bryan Curtis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Franklin and Sharon DeFord; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services honoring and remembering Randy will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, Nov. 29th at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Blair, Rev. Ross Woody and Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. Friends may gather at 11:00 AM, Wednesday in Reed Springs Cemetery for an interment service. Serving as pallbearers; Steve Millsaps, Carter Cardwell, Andy Hill, John Harrison, Steve Harrison, Bryan Curtis, Franklin DeFord, Ty Davis, Gabe Curtis, Daniel Curtis, and Ben Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present members of the Milk Boards and the LHS Class of 1977. Memorial contributions may be made to the Watson Chapel Baptist Church, 140 Watson Chapel Rd. Madisonville, TN 37354 or to the Randy Davis Memorial Milk Drive Fund, c/o First Bank & Trust Co., Attn: Roy Settle, Fund Administrator, 1185 N. State of Franklin Rd. Johnson City, TN 37604. The family will receive friends 3:30-6:45 PM, Tuesday prior to the service at Watson Chapel Baptist Church, 140 Watson Chapel Rd. Madisonville, TN 37354. McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf Street, Loudon is serving the Davis family.
