Survived by: wife, Doris Buckner Hightower; daughter, Melissa Whaley of Maynardville; three granddaughters, Jessica Sweet and Mark Martin, of SC, Angela and Ronnie Sweet Edmiston of Sharps Chapel, Amanda Whaley of Maynardville; four great granddaughters; two great grandsons; two special great granddaughters, Megan and Emily Edmiston of Sharps Chapel; brother, Glydon and Louise Hightower of Pineville, KY; sisters, Annalene and Charles Harbin of Ewlin, VA, Betty Jo and Andy Lamkin of Louisville, KY, Mary Sue and Homer Mason, Callaway, KY, Geraldine Lasley, Cincinnati, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Graves and Betty Buckner, Mary and Warren Cleveland all of Knoxville, TN; Shirley and Don Dugger, Prattsville, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sue Buckner of Knoxville, Charles David and Alma Buckner of Talbott; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1 with funeral service to follow 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Cooke Mortuary. Reverend Greg Sharp officiating.
