Howard Montague Finch, Jr.

Howard Montague Finch, Jr., 90 of Oak Ridge, Tennessee passed away at home Friday, April 13, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Howard was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina and served in the United States Army after graduating from high school. He attended Mars Hill College. He then moved to Knoxville in 1952 and attended the University of Tennessee. He worked for K-25 in Oak Ridge for 38 years, retiring in 1990.
Howard was an avid pilot and loved to fly. He was a creative genius and could build, make or repair anything. He was extremely active with many interests, including gardening, carpentry, car repair and many others. He adored his grandsons and they loved him like a father. He was raised in the Baptist faith, he was the grandson of a Baptist minister. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Montegue Sr. and Helen Francis (Leary) Finch, siblings, Helen Francis Finch Roberts and Robert Alonzo Finch.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Corrine Mayton Finch and their children, James Howard Finch, Julia Ann Trevino, grandchildren, Michael Adam Trevino and David Austin Trevino, sister, Elizabeth Ann Field, special friends, Brad, Julie and Sean Baier and Steven Piotrowski, also numerous extended family members, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews who adored him.
Special Thanks to Dr. Robert Casey, Victor McLaughlin Md, nurse, Lynn Schultz, Michael McLaughlin, nurse, Toby Lowe, Clark Hinkle, Carla Daugherty and Teresa and Eric Phipps, hospice nurse, Cindy Gallaher for the excellent care given to Mr. Finch during his illness.
There will be a Memorial Service June 16, 2018.
