KENDALLVILLE - Maxine W. Reed, age 95, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages.
She was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 23, 1931, and raised by Noble and Virgie Miller.
Maxine married Albert N. Reed on Dec. 2, 1950.
She retired from Eaton Industries (formerly King Seeley) in Kendallville.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Kendallville.
She was a talented organist and pianist and taught lessons to many young people. She also played for various churches on Sunday mornings, at many weddings and funerals.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine (Denny) Berkey, of Kendallville, Indiana; son, Mike (Mindy) Reed, of Plymouth, Indiana; granddaughters, Missy Bohannon, of Carmel, Indiana; April Palarczyk, of Lehigh Acres, Florida; grandsons, Justin (Jessica) Maxson, of Noblesville, Indiana, Doug (Amy) Allen, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kevin (Renee) Allen, of Huntertown, Indiana, Brian (Tiffany) Berkey, of Rome City, Indiana, Magnum, Hogan and Xander Reed, of Plymouth, Indiana; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Rosemary Maxson; and grandson, William S. Berkey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the annual family reunion in July 2026.
