Obituary Condolences

Arlene Steinhardt
On August 1, 2018, Arlene Steinhardt passed away, with Heaven gaining another angel. She was born in Walla, Walla, WA. to Otto and Mary Leota (Graaff) Steinhardt on May 18, 1952.
For many years, Arlene made Ellensburg her home. For a period of time she worked at St. Andrews Catholic Church and for many years, commuted to Cle Elum while working at Shoemaker Manufacturing. Arlene believed strongly in helping others and dedicated much of her life to doing so. She was a long-time caregiver to many over the years.
She also owned her own business, AS Medical Supplies, teaching First Aid and providing medical supplies and emergency kits for homes, cars and some businesses. An avid volunteer, she could be found at St. Andrews Catholic Church, welcoming newcomers, setting up for funeral receptions or creating a CD of the church's history or mowing the lawn weekly at the IOOF Cemetery.
She was a strong supporter of the military, having been a member of the ROTC and of the Kittitas County Search and Rescue, often fundraising or providing supplies for them.
Arlene had many passions in life which included her love of softball, making her signature Christmas candy, cooking her grandmother's recipes and recently, adult coloring and creating beautiful designs.
Arlene's compassion for others will be missed. She is survived by her sisters, both of Walla Walla, Martha (Steinhardt) Boroughs and Regina Steinhardt, many cousins and close friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25th at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 401 S Willow, Ellensburg. Interment will be at 10:00am on August 29th at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. 2nd Ave, Walla Walla.
