Bonnie Mansfield Obituary
Bonnie Mansfield
The most amazing woman, mother and "Gummas" took her final breath in the early morning of September 5, 2018. She was surrounded by family as they shared memories, laughter, and tears. Bonnie was born on July 23, 1947 in Prince George, BC. At the age of 18 she married and moved to Tacoma, WA where she raised 3 children. She worked for the Fife-Milton School District in the Special Ed classroom sharing her love for reading. In Bonnie's spare time she volunteered as a leader in Boy Scouts, Sea Scouts and helped fundraise for various groups. Her compassion for others who were less fortunate never wavered. One of Bonnie's favorite places was Fraser Lake, BC where her parents Earl and Dorothy Brochu lived for many years. It was her heaven on earth. In 2000, Bonnie moved to Ellensburg to be closer to family; she was able to spend a lot of time with her grandkids and others who adopted her as their own "Gummas". Although diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 30 years ago, she was determined to continue to live life independently. She never complained. She always said, "if there's a will - there's a way". Bonnie is survived by her daughter Julie Kjorsvik (Kevin), sons Ryan Mansfield (Kari) & Jordan Mansfield (Britta), and her grandchildren Kelsi, Daniel & Maci Kjorsvik and Riley & Brooke Mansfield. She is also survived by her special friend, Dan Dantzler. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society or simply perform random acts of kindness. But most of all "keep smilin".
