Judy Rashotte Obituary
Judy began her teaching career in Yellowknife, NWT in 1970 after graduating with a BA(English) from the University of Toronto. After a year of world travel and living in London, UK, Judy returned to Canada to resume her teaching career with the Ottawa-Carleton School Board. Judy worked with numerous employers in the city to assist her students to secure co-op placements and went to bat for many an errant student who needed extra help.
She was a longtime volunteer with the Big Sisters Association in Ottawa.
Judy's gentle, caring and loving nature resulted in numerous close lifetime friendships wherever she lived. She will be particularly and sorely missed by her cousin Ann who became her closest companion from their first days together in grade school and friends Norma, Gail, Mary, Carol, Maureen and Anne Marie.
Judy's love of dogs brought her a whole new set of friends in the neighbourhood both canine and human. Her friend Jeannie and "Winston" will always have a warm spot for Judy.

My heart goes out to all who had the opportunity to have Judy in their lives. She has been taken away far too soon. Mark always said that Judy was his very best friend, a wonderful Mom and a terrific teacher.I know that she will be greatly missed but her special qualities will serve as an ongoing memory for all.

I was so sorry to hear about Judy's illness and passing. What a lovely, lovely person Judy was. As a colleague and then friend of Mark's I was able to see that Judy was the centre of Mark's universe and then of course the universe expanded to include Emma. My thoughts go out to Judy's family.

I am in shock! I have known Judy for more than 50 years and just learned of her passing yesterday from a Belleville friend.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Judy had succumbed to cancer. We taught together for many years at Confederation and John McCrae High School and I will always remember her as a kind, warm, friendly person who was loved by everyone who knew her.
