On November 16th, 2017 at the age of 83, and surrounded by her children, Ruth Anne Hannah died at North Auburn Rehabilitation and Health Center where she had resided for the last 4 years.
Ruth was born in Ellensburg, Washington, daughter of Ella and Ernest Muzzall and sister to brothers Hugh and Dick Muzzall.
Ruth had attended Central Washington University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education, later teaching special needs children. Ruth married Ian Gordon Hannah in 1958, later divorced, and together they had four children.
Ruth is survived by her five children, Melanie Hergenroeder, Christine Sizemore, Shena Rodgers, Scott Hannah, and Jennifer Grey; nine grandchildren, Katie Reid, Keith Sizemore, Ryan and Alec Grey, Sam and Ruby Hannah, David, Laura and John Hergenroeder and two great grandchildren Camden and Tanner Reid.
Ruth had lived in Scio, Oregon 1970-1979 where she went back to school at LBCC and earned a degree in Metallurgy. Ruth also enjoyed square dancing and was an avid reader.
Ruth shared her homes with her widowed mother Ella Muzzall. Before her mother's death, they together, were long time members of P.E.O. and enjoyed gardening.
In 1979 Ruth had moved to Vashon Island, Washington when employed by The Boeing Company. She later was a stay at home mother and continued her hobby farming until 1993. In 1993 she then moved to Bremerton, Washington and continued to reside there until 2013. At that time she suffered ill health and moved into The North Auburn Rehabilitation and Health Center which was closer to her children.
She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Hugh and Dick, and her parents.
Ruth's wishes were cremation and ashes spread in the California Redwoods. No service will be held, but a donation made to the Redwoods Parks Conservatory in her name would honor her memory.
