Tana Marie (Craig) Spencer

Tana Marie (Craig) Spencer
Heaven was blessed with another angel, Friday morning, September 16th, 2016. Tana passed away surrounded by family at her childhood home. She was born October 23rd, 1960 in Ellensburg. The oldest of 3 girls, she attended school in Kittitas and graduated in 1978. She continued her education at Central Washington University, graduating with a degree in education. During her high school and college years she worked at the local Dairy Queen. While there, she worked with Jeff Spencer, who would later become her husband. She moved to the West side and worked in the mortgage industry for 13 years. While attending a Sweet 16 basketball game, she saw Jeff, an ESPN Cameraman. They exchanged "hello's" and shortly after began a beautiful relationship that would result in a loving marriage. Tana and Jeff were married October 4th, 1997. Together, they raised 2 boys, Bennett 17, and Davis 14. Tana was a stay at home mom during the boys' early years and then was employed at their school until June of 2015.
Tana will be remembered, first and foremost as a faithful follower to our Lord Jesus Christ. Her devotion to him could never be broken. He carried her in his arms every step of her cancer journey.
She was a dedicated wife and mother, always keeping their family busy schedules organized. Jeff and Tana's marriage showed a true commitment of the love they shared for each other in sickness and in health. Jeff was a wonderful and constant caretaker to Tana throughout her nearly 5 year Colon Cancer battle.
Tana and Jeff always planned to move back "home". On July 31st, the family flew to Ellensburg and she moved back into her childhood home. As her health declined, she remained steadfast in her trust and devotion to the Lord that in His timing, heaven would be ready for her.
On that beautiful, sunny, morning she took her last breath here on earth and began her eternal life with our everlasting Father. Tana was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. She is survived by her Husband Jeff, her Sons Bennett and Davis, Parents Bill and Connie Craig, Sisters Leann (Dave) and Jannelle (Terry), Mother-n-Law Judy Spencer, Brother-n- Law Rick Spencer and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, infant Brother William, and Father-n-Law Paul Spencer.
Tana's family, parents, sisters and friends helped her endure this long and courageous battle. Although she will be greatly missed here on earth, in times of suffering and sorrow, we can find hope as we reflect on the truth that pain-free, tearless eternity awaited Tana.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00, October 3rd at Mercer Creek Church.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to our local KVH Hospice Program, 401 East Mountain View.
