Thomas D. Cameron quietly passed away June 16, 2012 with his wife and children around him. Tom was born December 24, 1944 in Toppenish, WA to Clyde and Bernice Cameron. He attended school in Wapato, WA where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lynch on September 7, 1962. During their 49 years of marriage they raised four children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Tom realized his dream of becoming a firefighter in 1968 when he was hired by the City of Ellensburg Fire Department. During his 20 years with the Ellensburg Fire Department he also served on the Board of the Central Washington Firefighters Assoc. From 1972-1980 he served on the Board of the Washington State Firefighters Assoc. and was president of that Association from 1979-1980. He was responsible for setting up the "Juvenile Fire Setters Observation Program" for the City of Ellensburg. Tom retired from the department in 1989.
Tom was most proud of his two younger children for giving him grandchildren and of his two eldest children for graduating from Gonzaga University. His favorite pastimes were camping with the family, going to the ocean, cheering for his favorite sports teams, GU and U of W, and watching his children and grandchildren grow up.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Cameron, sisters Dolores Armstrong and Doris Wigglesworth, son-in-law Rob Forman. He is survived by his wife Linda, children Christie Welch (Ron), Melissa Forman (Rob), Shari Lord (Clayton), Scott Cameron (Colleen), brother Emmett Cameron (Dolores) of Phoenix, AZ, sister LaDonna Lasha of Moxee, WA, brother Jerry Cameron of Bonney Lake, WA, sister Charlotte Campbell (Don) of Seatac, WA, sister-in-law Marion Cameron of Tri Cities, WA, grandchildren Brendon Lord, Evan Lord, Morgan Lord, Colin Cameron, Cynthia Crosby, Cassandra Crosby, Shane Anderson, great grandson Zayne Turner and many nieces and nephews.
