July 25, 1937 - August 3, 2018Armando "Art" John Tazio, Jr. passed away on Friday, August 3rd 2018 at his home in Canyon Country. He was a fun-loving, hard working and supportive father and grandfather. Art lived an exuberant life of 81 years that began in Canada in 1937. He came to California during his childhood with his mother, brother, aunts and their families. He grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Loyola High School in 1956. Art was a proud veteran that served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1964. He was an automotive mechanic that retired from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Art was a car enthusiast and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, classical music and good food. He resided in his home for 36 years and was an active member of the community. Art found fulfillment by volunteering at the local California Highway Patrol (CHP) during his retired years.Art will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Lena, step-son Patrick, grandson Derek, many cousins and his dogs Zoe and Farrah. He was preceded in death by his mother Lena, father Armando, and brother Ralph. Art was buried on August 15, 2018 in the mausoleum at the Holy Cross cemetery in Culver City. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Friday September 7, 2018 at the Canyon Country Elk's Lodge, 17766 Sierra Highway, from 11am to 3pm.Please sign the guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/ladailynews.
