Frances Labyorteaux Obituary

FRANCES LABYORTEAUX

Frances Mae Labyorteaux, 85, passed away January 28th after a six-month illness.

Performing early in her career as Frankie Marshall, she spent seven decades in show business, from Vaudeville and nightclubs, touring with the Tommy Dorsey band, to film and television.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald, daughter Janie and sister Betty, she is survived by sons Patrick (Tina) Labyorteaux and Matthew Labyorteaux, granddaughter Ericka Christensen, brother Bud Newman, her constant companion Tina the dog, and dear friends Noreen Reardon and Paula Cwikly. Her favorite role was that of doting Great Grandma GG to Jeau, Taylor and Annabelle.

Along with adopting all of her children, Frances gave a loving home to countless abandoned animals and any friend in need, and will be remembered as a strong, funny, loving and generous woman, who was passionate about her family, her dogs and show biz.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 4th. Contact [email protected] for info. Donations in her memory may be made to rescuetrain.org

Got to know Aunt Frankie more in her later years. Was fortunate to really get to know her while visiting Grandma K (Mildred) and staying at Uncle Buds house in Metarie. I still have a book about dogs she sent me.
Amazing how much she looks like my Grandma Betty Jane.
Prayers for all from

Matthew,

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dear MOTHER......She loved you so much. I've been away for some time and only now found out that your MOM had passed on. I last saw you and her a few years back and she seemed so much alive and vibrant. I'll get a card off soon...........

Matthew: I grew up watching the Red Hand Gang, Little House and Whiz Kids with my sister - the happiest of childhood memories. It broke my heart when I lost her. Your mother was clearly a beautiful and remarkable person (as are you with your heart for Youth Rescue and ability to move people through your performances). I am truly sorry for your loss and I pray for God's comfort and strength to help you. May you be blessed by family and good friends until the day when you and your mother are reunited in a place where there will be no more tears, only rejoicing. Jules, Oxford, England
