Mary Lou Sullivan Obituary
Mary Lou Sullivan, 75, of Northridge, California, joined the Lord on February 20, 2018, surrounded by loved ones in prayer.

Mary Lou was born on October 13, 1942, in Kansas City, Kansas, and relocated to California where she graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley in 1960.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband, John Sullivan; four of her children (sons Ralph J. Mason Jr., Roger Mason, and Tim Sullivan and daughter Melissa Mason-Bulis); five of her siblings (brother Alva Thompson and sisters Diane Harris, Connie Thompson, Deborah Cole, and Gail Taylor); six grandchildren (Joan, Tim, Olivia, Connor, Vivian and Jim); two great-grandchildren (Ava and Cade); and beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Mason, and her brother, George Thompson.

Mary Lou worked as an administrative clerk with the Reseda Adult School, where she counseled and bonded with numerous individuals who she referred to as “her” students. Mary Lou had a giant heart that she shared with others by opening up her doors to house those in need, serving multiple Thanksgiving dinners each year to those with nowhere to go, and reaching out to her loved ones with a card on their birthday, or maybe a few days later.

Mary Lou loved to have a good time, whether she was crushing a party pinata with her sweet left-handed swing, selling Avon simply to spend time with and meet new friends, listening to country music (especially her crush, Billy Ray Cyrus), hitting the bowling lanes with John, hanging out at the movies enjoying comedies, vacationing with her dear friend, Lois Heatherly, or sharing her passion for couponing with her loved ones.

Mary Lou attended, and served as treasurer at, San Fernando Foursquare Church. She later became a member and volunteer of Northridge Foursquare Church.

A funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park – Hollywood Hills located at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California 90068, in the Church of the Hills.
