Richard Lorne Davis, Sr. passed away on December 29, 2017. He was 90 years of age. He was born in Montreal, Canada on March 19, 1927. He is survived by his wife Judith; brother Howard; son Richard L. Davis, Jr, and daughter Maureen.

His education includes under- graduate work at McGill University and Sir George Williams College in Canada; Los Angeles City and California State Colleges. Graduated from Southwestern University Law School, Cum Lude with JD and LLB Degrees. At 17 years of age, he enlisted in the Canadian Navy serving in the North Atlantic. Upon moving to California he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Veteran of WWII, both Canadian and United States Armed Forces, a veteran of the Korean conflict, and a retired JAG officer of the United States Service Agency. He was a 50 year Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Master Mason, and a 50 year Al Malaikah Shriner.

His numerous public service activities include: Past Governor of the Hollywood Bar Association; Past Lieutenant-Governor and Life Member of the Optimist International; Graduate of Glendale Police Department; RSVP Police Academy for 2 years; graduate of City of Glendale Community Emergency Preparedness Team Training program; Past Commander of Glendale Cadet Squadron 27 Civil Air Patrol; Graduate of U.S. Air Force National Staff College; Past Commander of 301st Battalion California State Military Reserve; Member of the City of Glendale Civil Service Commission for 4 years and Chairman for 2 years; Past member of Citizens Panel for Revision of Glendale City Charter; Member of the Glendale Unified School District Classified Personnel Commission for 13 years; member of Los Angeles County Civil Grand Jury from 2006-2007; and member of the American Legion Post 527, served as Adjutant.
