Richard Edwards Hall Obituary
June 4, 1932 - July 30, 2018Richard Edwards Hall, 86, died Monday, July 30th at his home in Camarillo from complications of Parkinson's Disease. His wife of 68 years, Ann Hall and his daughter, Lyndee Lynch were at his bedside.Richard was born in 1932 in Wendell, Idaho to parents, Leona and Richard Hall. His family, including brother, Alfred and sister, Norma, moved to Burbank, California in 1947 where Richard attended Burbank High School and met his future wife. Richard and Ann were married in 1950 and settled in Granada Hills, California to raise their family. They relocated to Camarillo in 1978. Richard served in the Navy and was stationed in Long Beach and San Diego. While attending night school to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Northridge, Rich worked full time in the Aerospace Industry in addition to raising three children. He spent his early career at Lockheed Aircraft where he was recognized for his contribution to the invention of the first inertial guidance system prototypes, which are instrumental today in all air and space travel and a key component in our missile defense systems. He then spent 25 years in engineering management at Litton Industries in Woodland Hills. He was an early pioneer in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and its applications in the Aerospace Industry. Some of Richard's favorite pastimes were fishing at June Lake with his family, watching the thoroughbred horse races at Hollywood Park and Del Mar Racetracks and golfing. He was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer and a keen Dodger and Laker fan.In retirement, Richard and Ann joined the Saticoy Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed more than 15 years of golf and camaraderie with his many Saticoy friends."He was larger than life because he was so smart and could build or fix anything," said his daughter, Jan, "He could work with his engineering team on complex Aerospace issues, lay a brick patio or rebuild a car engine, then finish off the day with a golf game at Saticoy with his son, Dave. He could be the quietest man in the room but still have the whole party laughing with his dry wit."The Hall Family would like to give special thanks to caregivers, Ricardo Garcia and Rosanna Estrada, who treated Richard with such respect, gentleness and kindness in the final months of his life.Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Al; sister, Norma; and grandson, Devin. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hall; son, Dave Hall (Kay); daughters, Lyndee Lynch and Jan Rawlings (John); grandchildren, Kristi Hall, Davey Hall, Mickey Ferrick, Alexandra Rawlings, Reagan Littlefield; great grandson, Paydyn; great granddaughters, Shannon, Katie and Lucy; along with nieces, Maureen Robinson (Glenn), Kathleen Cordiero (Chris); nephew, Skip Hall; and their amazing and loving families.Interment will be private. Please sign the guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/ladailynews.
