Obituary Condolences

Age 73, of Encino, California, died December 11 at her home after a brief illness. She was born November 24, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Shukry Nassif and Iaka "Evelyn" Botros Abou-Arraj who immigrated to the United States from the Republic of Lebanon in 1912 and 1913 respectively. She moved to Richlands, Virginia with her family in 1939 and graduated from Richlands High School in 1955. Upon graduation she attended Mary Washington College and graduated from The Fashion Institute of New York. She began her career in retail at B. Altman and Co. and in 1958 moved to Washington, D.C to serve as the millenary buyer for Woodward & Lothrop. In 1970 she moved to Los Angeles where she became the Divisional Buyer of Accessories for J.W. Robinson and Co. In 1982 she began her own business of Maureen J. Nassif Accessories until her retirement in 2005. She is preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Kathryn Ann Zambacca. She is survived by her sister, Lila A. Zambacca of Alpharetta, Georgia, brother, Bahjet J. "Bob" Nassif and his wife Nona of Richlands, Virginia; nephew, Bob Zambacca and wife Diane of Roanoke, Virginia; niece, Diane Z. Grant and husband, Dr. Michael Sargeant of Silver City, New Mexico; nephews, Richard Zambacca and wife Lisa of Norcross, Georgia, and Gregory Nassif St. John and his partner, Jeffrey Sowder of Atlanta, Georgia; great nephews and nieces, Kevin and Kyle Zambacca of Roanoke, Virginia, Karen Wallace of Norcross, Georgia and Mark Wallace and his wife Maddie of Norcross, Georgia.
