- BELTRAN- Frank Nunez Beltran aka Tio Pancho was a long time resident of El Monte. Born Feburary 6, 1931 - June 4, 2011. He was 80 years old. He was the 7th sibling of 10 and youngest son of Celso & Maria N. Beltran who moved to El Monte in the early 1900's. Born & raised in El Monte on the same block surrounded by 15 additional homes of family members. Married to: Elvira Monreal for 45 years, having 7 children. He finished school in the 6th grade to work in the strawberry fields in El Monte as a picker to survive. At age 18 he worked as a cement finisher. He poured concrete over various famous parts of Los Angeles including various parks in El Monte. He retired from EC Construction in 1994. Surviving the Great Depression, he valued hard work which he passed onto his kids & grandkids. He was the handyman of all trades. Frank was loved by many because of his generosity & hospitality and known by many because of his jokes and humorous stories like "how he caught the bomb" which hangs on his front porch. Everyone was welcome in his home, no one was turned away because he loved to lighten their moods with laughter and food, especially his menudo. It was the best Menudo in town. He also had a passion for planting flowers, feeding birds and for the USC TROJANS! Many of his talents he passed to his kids, like playing the Guitar, Harmonica & accordion. But most of all he loved to hum and sing to his grand children and spend quality time with them. Member of: Club Durazo as V- Pres. , The Hispanic American Club and Volunteered for the Senior Citizen Club. Frank survived by his companion Fanny Ballesteros for the past 11 years. His Children: Lucy, (RIP Charlene) Frankie, Bobby, Jerry, Vivian & Virginia. His Brothers/Sisters: (RIP: Maria, Henry, Gilbert, Esperanza,) survived by Richard, Celestino, Pina, Lupe and Carolina. Grand Children: Michael, Jimmy, Marina, Joey, Natalie, Juliann, Maria, Steven, Lisa, Angelica, Robert, Destiny, Irene, Rosie & Rudy. Great Grandchildren: Melanie, Alyssa, Alex, Dominic, Maliya, Kobee, Lailani, Deaveyan, Janae, Marissa, Robert Rey, Frankie Desi, Rozzy, Devin and Eva. Frank Beltran was a gentle loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be remembered & missed on the streets of El Monte. ROSARY: Thursday June 9th at 6-8 PM BURIAL: Friday June 10th at 9 AM both at Nativity Church In El Monte.
