Helen Ruth Russell Branscomb, 86, of Speedwell, was born Aug. 29, 1934 and peacefully departed this life at her home surrounded by her family on March 1.

She was saved at a young age and was a member at Pine Grove Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her family very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ditsy and Hallie Pierce Russell; husband of 62 years, James Henry Branscomb; infant daughter, Nancy Branscomb; infant sister, Barbara Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Cornelia Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Wilma and Richard Brown; and three great-grandchildren she never saw.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda and husband, Vic Graves, Donna and husband, Dorsey Pierce; son, Jimmy and wife, Ronda Branscomb; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; special nephews, William "Bill" Brown and wife, Sheeley, Frank Brown; sisters-in-law, Carrie Branscomb, Dorothy Branscomb; brother-in-law, William and Cedilla Branscomb; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

A special thank you to Hazel Carey who Helen grew to love very much and her UT Hospice team.

The graveside service was on Saturday, March 6 at the Russell-Branscomb Cemetery in Speedwell with the Rev. Kojak Graves officiating, singers from the family and grandsons and great grandsons as pallbearers.

Coffey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
