Carol Linn Becker Obituary
Carol Linn Becker February 4, 1949 - July 18, 2018 Ramona Carol (Haynes) Becker was born at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD and was raised in Ramona. Born into a Navy family, she moved around several times between Arizona and San Diego to finally settle into Ramona in 1954, when she was 5 years old. Carol lived in Ramona for the rest of her life. In July 2017, she found out she had cancer, and fought it for one year till her passing at the age of 69. Carol graduated from Ramona High School in 1967 and went onto nursing school to become an LVN. During high school, she worked many hours in the family cabinet shop with her brother Bud and her parents. Carol had strong work ethics that showed thought out her life. There wasn't anything she couldn't accomplish and showed it in so many ways. In 1973, Carol found her soon to be husband of 45 years, James Becker, while on a desert trip with her brother at the Glamis Sand Dunes. They dated long distance from Palm Desert and Spring Valley for two weeks. They fell in love right away, and were married four weeks from the day they meet. They had two sons, Jeff and Nicholas. She became a full-time stay at home mother for her children, taking them to soccer practices, family vacations in the motorhome during summers and so many other activities. Carol started up a craft business in the late 1970's that lasted for more than 30 years. She did macram for 4-5 years, and it eventually turned into felt made holiday decorations. Carol, Jim and the kids traveled around to different craft fairs in San Diego and Orange County selling the products. The last crafty things she made were sewing quilts, placemats and other amazing products. She would donate her sewed products to organizations such as Project Linus, which gave lap quilts to children in the hospitals and airplane flights to and from home and hospitals. She also donated products to fundraisers for the Ramona High School music program, and Ramona Junior Fair to help local Ramona youth programs. If there was a way to give, she would find it.Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Haynes and Marjorie Haynes. She is survived by her younger brother, Bud Haynes; husband, James Becker; older son, Jeff Becker (Robin); younger son, Nicholas Becker; four grandkids, Michaela, Mariah, Rudy Ann and Hazel; and many cousins. A celebration of life will be held at the Becker home, on Saturday August 18, 2018, at 3pm. For more information contact Jeff Becker at 760-703-5872 for details.
