William J. "Bill" Rizoff Obituary
William J "Bill" Rizoff, 81, of Brookston, passed away at 10:00 p.m. August 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 3, 1936 in Om Dem, Greece (Macedonia) to the late John T. and Alexandra (Engelooff) Rizoff. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Waukegan East High School and a 1959 graduate of Purdue University. He served in the ROTC program for 2 years in high school and 2 more at Purdue. His marriage of 51 years was to Janet Marie Stover on April 12, 1959 in Brookston; she preceded him in death on August 17, 2010. He later married Judy (Elliott) Tatman on October 15, 2016; she survives. Mr. Rizoff worked for Abbott Labs for 32 years as a Chemical Technician retiring on January 20, 1992. He was an avid reader and enjoyed telescopes and cameras. Bill enjoyed photography and would often do photos for retirement parties and weddings of friends at Abbott Labs. He loved spending time with his family and traveling. Surviving are three sons, John Rizoff (wife: Melinda) of Wadsworth, IL, David Rizoff of Waukegan, IL and James Rizoff (wife: Shannon) of Brookston; a daughter, Cheryl Caron (husband: Craig) of Antioch, IL and a half-brother, Louis Popoff of Florida. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amber, Megan, Rachel and Michael and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents and wife Janet. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 also at the funeral home; Rev.
