Wendi J. Roberts, 54, of Lake Geneva WI, formerly of Waukegan died November 4th 2016. She was born January 20th, 1962 in Waukegan IL and lived there for most of her adult life. She started her career as a registered nurse and Northlake County EMS paramedic educator and was currently working as an Executive Director at the Joint Commission. She is survived by parents Vernon "Red" and Joyce Ladewig, sons Christopher and Eric Roberts, sister Luann (Roy) Kolstad, brothers Mark (Kathleen) Ladewig, and Thomas (Pamela) Ladewig; four grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews and four great nephews and nieces. Wendi started at Victory Memorial Hospital when she was 12 years old as a candy striper and spent the next 18 years there becoming a nurse, emergency room coordinator and EMS educator. This passion of teaching transcended Wendi's life both for the Northlake County EMS system teaching aspiring paramedics through mentoring so many of her employees at every place she worked. Wendi continually sought higher education and brought all of the aspects of her learning back to help improve not only her life and career, but the life of her employees as well. Wendi always loved the hospital setting and her most recent career enabled her to travel the world accrediting hospitals. Visitation is Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, Gurnee Illinois and Friday, November 11, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation prior to the service.
